Dear JONC.nl-readers,

I am sorry for not posting anything for such a long time again.
Regarding the comments you have all left in my previous posts, I’d try to answer them in this entry and I hope it will bring me more response afterwards.

The weather has been crazy in Hong Kong this year, it is just weird and over the top. How many times has Typhoon number 8 been hoisted this summer?
It might be good news for students and most workers since they wouldn’t need to go to school and work under such circumstances, but in the Hospitality Industry, there is NO day-off and NO compensation because this is a service industry and you can never stop providing services for one another. The most you can get from your hotel is probably a complimentary night for your goodwill’s sake, in case you wouldn’t be able to work on time the next day without public transportation. After Typhoon No. 9 ~ Tsim Sha Tsui

Although the workload is heavy in Tourism and Hospitality Industry here, this is still the largest and main industry in Hong Kong, which means there are many job opportunities because these industries do need experienced personnel to enhance the profit and revenue of Tourism in Hong Kong.
I was always wondering what the Hospitality Industry is like in the Netherlands, since there are so many provinces and cities, and of course life in Europe is more leisure and casual, would you have 400+ for check-in and check-out on a daily basis?
Let’s say the Westin and Hilton’s got approximately 250 rooms each, what is their occupancy like during high season?
Speaking of HIGH season in Hong Kong, it doesn’t mean summer or any festival holidays, but we are talking about Fairs and Conferences. The events calendar is packed every month, which explains the reason why you hardly get a seat back from Amsterdam, even though we have 2 flights operating by Cathay Pacific and KLM each day.

So, what happened with me in the last few weeks apart from working and attending lectures?
I went to see Fahrenheit’s Fantasy World Tour ~ Live in Hong Kong @ Asia World Arena. The atmosphere was lively and it was the best concert I have ever been to.
From the stage effects to the crowds, Fahrenheit’s far better than many other western and Taiwanese bands. I say that because I have been to F4’s back in many years ago and I swear Fahrenheit’s got that youth energy and all the elements that a performer should have, in order to get their audiences involved and merged into their fantasy world.
Self-taken @ MTR station: Calvin Chen, Aaron Yan, Jiro Wang & Wu Chun

Still following “Hot Shot” on the web and recently I got hooked by this Japanese drama called “Galileo” which is based on Detective Galileo, a novel by the famous mystery writer Keigo Higashino, starring Fukuyama Masaharu & Shibasaki Kou on TVB Jade, on every Sunday @ 10:30pm.

I’d recommend you to watch this drama because this is simply about mystery stories without romance involved in the beginning.
At last, I’d like to share my happiness with you all here, I have had a great birthday this year (2nd Oct) because I got the time to have dinner and sing karaoke with my friends which I appreciated very much. Nothing massive but it was warm and fun.
Taken @ Neway, Mongkok on 2nd Oct 2008

Till next time...

Groetjes,
Kamen x

Report on declining occupation rate for luxurious hotels in the Netherlands. Bonus it's in Dutch good for listening skills . Footage features the Okura Hotel in Amsterdam.

    Happy birthday too.
Getting a pat ho fung kao warning wouldn't be pleasant no. As a result of that you should stay home or even hotel as long as possible.
I only have been once to a HK karaoke bar. It was Greenbox if I remember it correctly. At the Grand Century Plaza near the Mong Kok train station.
